Hey, remember way back...
when Zellers used to be
Woolco?
Yes, way, way, way back, Zellers was called Woolco.
I used to do lots of my shopping there when I was in college.
They played the radio over the intercom but almost every time I was in the store, there would be an interruption in the radio broadcast.
A woman's voice would come on,
loud and clear, and she would say:
"Mister Tanaka, Mister Tanaka, please call extension 227. Mister Tanaka, line 227, Mister Tananka."
And once she started paging him, she wouldn't stop...just a few minutes later, the same message would come on:
"Mister Tanaka, Mister Tanaka, please call extension 227. Mister Tanaka, line 227, Mister Tanaka."
And then yet again
she would say the same Tanaka spiel, and I would wonder
- is there really a person here with that name, or does she just like the way the name sounds in her mouth...
Try it...out loud...Taaaaaaaaa, Naaaaaaaaaaaa, Kaaaaaaaaaaaaa,
now quicker this time,
Ta na ka
it's fun, catchy, sticks in your head - a name like that...!
Years later there was another name that stuck out as a real tongue pleaser...
This name seemed to be very popular with all the newscasters...
A married man had gotten involved with a young girl (Amy Fisher) and when his wife found out about them, Amy tried to kill the wife...etc.etc...
do you remember his name?
The initials are J.B.
Joey Buttafuco!
- I swear, that story just kept on being talked about...
simply because everyone liked to have the opportunity to say his name...
It has a ring, doesn't it...
Try that one outloud...admit it...you like it too!
What's your favorite name or word to say out loud...
not because it's a nice word, or an inspiring word...
but just because you like the way it rolls around in your mouth?
haha! I totally remember Woolco!! weird!!
